The flood zones in this layer are referred to by FEMA as having a 1% annual chance of being equaled or exceeded in a given year, and identified on the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) as a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA). This is also known as the base flood or 100-year flood as referred to in this layer. These zones are labeled in the NFHL as Zone A, AO, AH, A1-A30, AE, A99, AR, AR/AE, AR/AO, AR/A1-A30, AR/A, V, VE, and V1-V30.",
