<idPurp>To show a 1:24,000-scale, full-color geologic map of Rhyolite Ridge and the northern Silver Peak Range, Esmeralda County, Nevada, with 3 cross sections and descriptions of 54 units. The GIS work was in support of the U.S. Geological Survey STATEMAP initiative. The geodatabase specifies feature datasets and feature classes, together with feature attributes, subtypes and domains, suitable for a variety of geologic maps. In addition to basic geology (lithology, contacts and faults, etc.), the map may include metamorphic overprints, cross sections, and explanatory legend-graphics such as correlation charts, used to supplement columnar legends.</idPurp>

<stepDesc>This is a new map produced by Geologists and Cartographers at the Nevada Bureau of Mines and Geology using field observations, and analysis of LiDAR data and aerial imagery. All features in the GeologicMap featuredataset are attributed in part with geodatabase domain values. All labels on the map are auto-labels using the Maplex extension, for enhanced auto-labeling for clarity. Definition queries were applied to layers as needed. Layout was completed in ArcGIS Pro. Database was produced and built in accordance with the USGS GeMS database schema.</stepDesc>
